Named after its resemblance to the brush on a chicken, cockscomb boasts brightly-colored blooms with a completely unique comb-like form. These vegetation are part of the Amaranthaceae circle of relatives beneath the Celosia genus. The Cristata Group has taken the common name of cockscomb and capabilities alternating, lance-like leaves that can be located in green or bronze, at the same time as its blooms may be red, red, yellow, or white. The velvety, big flowers maintain their shades even when dried, making them a really perfect addition to wreaths or dried floral arrangements. Though regularly planted as an annual, cockscomb can be used as a perennial in heat climates.
